My life and work must-haves
I’m a Type A lady.
A homebody.
And a social media-scrolling addict.
I also like being efficient.
And supporting local businesses.
I’m going to share with you some of my favorite things that make my life so much better. This is not an exhaustive list. So these are what feel like the MOST important to share with you.
Things I love
While I don’t love supporting Amazon (I cancelled my Prime membership 🥳), that was the easiest way to link to some items I’ve purchased there, though I am a big fan of supporting local businesses when possible.
At my desk:
- My Roost laptop stand + my wireless Apple keyboard, and mouse = my coworking space travel besties
- Standing desk — I get asked about mine ALL the time, and there are so many options now, and they’re super cost-effective
- New desk chair — because I slipped a disk and AIN’T NO WAY I’m letting that happen again
- My coffee warmer — I own two, one for my desk and one for my reading nook
- Fathom.ai — y’all, it’s free. FREE.
- Wispr Flow — as an avid yapper, this is an amazing dictation tool! I have it downloaded on my computer
- Loom — can’t live without it
- Asana — can’t live without it
At my desk: Podcaster tools
Now that I’ve survived an ice apocalypse:
- Battery power bank that I already had charged before the storm
- The heavy-as-ever power station + 400W solar panel << this one right here is for my nervous system! I hope to never have to use it, but I have it just in case
- I need to get a lantern, and I’m open to suggestions. This one?
- Get any heated blanket at all (I have one like this)
Things that make my life better and richer:
- The Brick — otherwise, I spend the first hour of every day scrolling
- Since I don’t scrapbook, I pay for 1 Second Everyday and it’s AMAZING (example here)
- Reading my friend Andres’ memoir
- Listening to The Holy Post
- Supporting small businesses for gifts, like my friends Alicia at Waxy B, Whitney, Machelle, and local Nebraska gems like Post Script and The Mill Coffee & Tea
- Thrifting — bad day? Go thrifting. Great day? Go thrifting.
- Having friends over for homemade baked donuts
- This Instax Mini 3 Printer makes it so fun to send physical photos to friends in cards, or make them together with friends at get-togethers
