Oh hey there, I′m glad you're here!
And if you're on the hunt for some top-notch email marketing strategy and conversion copywriting tips - you've come to the right place!
Everywhere you look every single blogger has some sort of Black Friday deal they’re warming up for the holidays, and it can be… well… exhausting to think about creating yours.
(Ideally, the Full House theme song should’ve rang in your head, but just in case it didn’t… here’s a GIF to strike your memory.)
Well, I’m pulling a Kimmy Gibbler and popping giddily into your day* to share how you can EASILY and quickly put together a super-simple Black Friday deal your audience will love.
(*Though, at least you met me here. )
My biggest tip: Use content you already have to make money on Black Friday. Yes, it’s absolutely possible, and I’ll show you how!
I know what you might be thinking:
“But I don’t have any content I can use,”
Or, “Everything I have is already on the website,”
Or, “This will be too much work.”
Before we dive into my three ideas for making money on Black Friday, let me show you how a Duett client, Maria of She Loves Biscotti, pulled together a quick, low-cost guide to sell.
Maria pulled 16 of her top recipes and added 2 exclusive recipes to create this guide for making holiday Italian dishes easily approachable and accessible for her readers — and it absolutely took off!
Let me repeat this — she used 16 existing, on-her-blog-already recipes and 2 exclusive ones found nowhere else — packaged it up and is selling it.
You don’t have to sell a million never-before recipes and you don’t have to charge a ton for it!
Okay, let’s officially dive into three ways you (yes, you) can do something similar!
Whipping up a deal for Black Friday does not have to be time-consuming or stressful. Here are a few ideas:
Find a common thread of recipes or blog posts that solve ONE problem (or center on ONE topic) for your audience. Ask yourself:
Will it make their lives easier?
Will they feel better prepared for something as a result? (i.e. a holiday, upcoming event, EOY/tax season, etc.)
Because FUN FACT: Packaging something you already have in one place IS a convenience, and people are willing (and eager) to pay for it!
A few tips on setting up your Black Friday offer:
You can do this easily through ConvertKit, Sendowl, Gumroad, and even Flodesk’s new checkout feature! If you don’t have ConvertKit yet, just know that when you switch, you’ll have full access to their platform for selling digital products (affiliate link) at no additional cost to you.
You don’t have to charge a ton if you sell a digital product — make it $15 and sell it for $9 or $7 for just a few days.
If you already have several digital products for sale, you can bundle them up and sell them on Black Friday for a limited-time discount!
Give your readers a special code or create a one-time-only sales bundle (using the same tool with ConvertKit that I mentioned above) so they only have to check out one time to get all of your goods.
You can also use this time to promote an affiliate partner of yours. Maybe you hesitate to promote an affiliate — or maybe you promote it all year round, but you want a new way to present it.
Here’s how you could do it:
Share about your affiliate partner and why you love them
Provide an incentive FROM YOU that you’ll give readers when they sign up using your affiliate link
An affiliate-paired incentive could be:
A group strategy call on Zoom
A discounted 1:1 consulting session with you
Access to a paid product for free
The important thing is that this deal — this bundle of affiliate promo + your sweet incentive — is for a limited time only!
So, what do you think? Black Friday doesn’t have to be an around-the-clock ordeal – it can be simple, easy, and profitable in just a few steps!
What will you be promoting?!
If you’re not welcoming new subscribers and pointing them in the direction of your best, most beloved content — or you feel like the one you have isn’t doing the trick — it’s time we fix that. Use this free 5-part framework to make a meaningful & lasting first impression as you write your first welcome sequence for new email subscribers!
FYI : I sometimes talk about and link to tools, sites, books, and resources that I LOVE. Sometimes those companies give me a little gift for sharing if you choose to purchase something through my affiliate link. I promise to be straightforward with you and to only share things I personally use and would vouch for 100%.
