You may believe that results can only be achieved by sending a flood of emails to your list in order to see any true results. I think this idea might come from the ol’ stat about people needing to see an ad seven times before taking action.
Today I’m here to absolutely bust your perception that you need to overwhelm your list in order to make an impact.
Our client, Sara, had well-built, clear messaging (SEO for wedding pros — if that ain’t specific, haha) and an awesome trainings and services for her audience. With my help, Sara seized the opportunity to pitch a mid-priced, evergreen service to her email list, and the results were STELLAR.
After just three emails in a six-email cart-open/launch series, Sara sold four spots for her SEO Fix service — at $1500 per project!
And what happened by the end of the sixth email? I’ll let Sara’s emails to me do the talking
With just six emails, Sara was able to book ELEVEN projects — significantly more than the four projects she was optimistically hoping to sell “within three weeks of the launch.”
But did it stop there?
Ohh, noooo…
Sara’s results are amazing, there is no doubt about that. But before you navigate away from this email thinking you’ll never get similar results, I want you to know a couple of things…
While internet gurus promote “tiny offers” and passive income (all are great in their time), this case study is proof that there is room — and need — for services to be pitched as well!
And when you sell services? You make more money. Sure, you have limited resources and might book out — but $1500 a pop is still more money (and less work) than pedaling a $15 ebook to get 100 subscribers to buy, right?
Sara had a proven offer that she had sold to nearly 10 people before she decided to invest in having me write her promo email sequence. She “knocked on doors” and tested the offer and refined it.
She knew her audience needed a solution like The SEO Fix — and by testing the offer with her first wave of SEO Fix clients, she also had proof of the results it could produce. So then it was simply a matter of getting the offer in front of her existing audience (her email list) and giving them a reason to buy now (a limited-time bonus offer).
Taking the time to write a sequence of just a few emails dedicated to promoting one of your offers can have a HUGE payoff. Your audience is your audience for a reason: they love what you do and they want to know what you can do for them.
Sara has a high-end offer, and her welcome email sequence introduces her low-cost training and an occasional live bootcamp — but this particular service met a need that her email list would benefit from ASAP.
To boost interest, we treated this promotion as you would any cart-open/cart-close launch. We paired her evergreen offer with a limited-time bonus. When time ran out, the offer would still be available, but the bonus would *vanish.*
That’s it.
And 11 people ate it up, with more emailing Sara after the offer expired asking if they can still take advantage of it.
How freaking cool is that?!
