Oh hey there, I′m glad you're here!
And if you're on the hunt for some top-notch email marketing strategy and conversion copywriting tips - you've come to the right place!
There’s a magic place many email marketers have heard about but few have tread… ✨ the realm of higher conversions and fewer unsubscribers. ✨
This place isn’t unattainable — in fact, you can step foot into it during your very next launch!
How? It’s a mix of things:
But, the other half of the secret lies in your ongoing email marketing behaviors — what you do even before (and after) a launch. That’s right — you can increase sales simply by being a good, caring human who “also happens” to send out marketing content and asks for a sale.
Coming out of the left field with an offer when you haven’t emailed your list all year might not be a welcomed move.
Now, I’m not saying you need to pummel your list with daily emails to stay top-of-inbox.
What I AM saying though, is that it’s important to prioritize consistency with your audience in order to build and maintain a good, active connection with your readers. Connection begets trust, trust begets relationships, and relationships are key to building brand loyalty and engagement.
And when someone feels more connected to you, they’re more likely to listen to what you’re offering (when you do launch something) and make the purchase if it’s a good fit.
In order to KNOW your audience and what they want to receive from you, you need to LISTEN.
Replies sent from subscribers who are on your email list
Questions they ask during live events, Q&As, or what hosts ask you on podcasts
And if you want even more, tailored data around your content, you could go so far as to ~gasp~ ASK them. Send out a simple survey, ask them to click in an email (that will tag their interest or skill level), and determine the best way you can provide answers to their biggest needs.
I send out a survey to my email list around the New Year every year, and it fuels my content strategy for the whole year. For 2022, that resulted in content ideas for emails I sent out, but even more than that, what I learned about readers like you is that having a live, roundtable event each month would be even MORE helpful to getting your questions answered.
How are you listening to your audience? How could you be doing this in a more strategic way to better serve your subscribers and provide content they both want and need?
There’s a reason email tags and segmentation exist, and it’s not so the overly organized can be extra organized. Tech automations like this help you build better relationships by allowing your audience to customize their experience and allowing you to interpret their feedback.
Using email tags and segmentation helps you exclude people from marketing messages for which they aren’t the best fit. Tags and segmentation allow you to understand and interpret your audience’s actions and behaviors so you can appropriately tailor their experience (a.k.a. not spam them).
Your subscribers signed up to learn from you, experience your content, and hear more about your offers. When someone signs up for an email list, they’re doing more than downloading an opt-in or joining a newsletter — they know they are supporting your business and joining your content community.
Subscribers have signed up for your email list because they trust you in their inboxes. They know you are not a spammer, and they expect to learn more about what you do, the services you provide, and the problems you solve.
As I’ve said before… selling to your list is actually about offering a product to people who will experience some sort of benefit or change in their lives as a result.
The strategies in this step-by-step guide to segmenting your email list help you sell better. How? They help you get to know the people on your list even better so you can tailor your offers and content going forward by:
Giving them control over what they hear from you
Personalizing their experience
Allowing them to build a better relationship with your brand
I got a GREAT question from a reader earlier this week. Deanne asked if the strategies in my guide work for a tool like Flodesk (or if you need ConvertKit to put them in action).
Yes, you can use these strategies with any platform! I told her:
“I have used most of the strategies in the guide for Flodesk clients of mine before, and all can work! The setup looks a bit different since Flodesk doesn’t have “link triggers” — but the concepts and strategies I teach in the training apply to most ESPs (just with a few workarounds).”
Wonder what you’ll learn inside the guide?!
